Royal Caribbean Icon Class

Royal Caribbean Icon Class Icon of the Seas

The Icon Class is the newest class of ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet. There is currently one ship in this class with a second named ship currently under construction and set to sail later this year. A third unnamed Icon Class ship is also under construction and expected to be completed in 2026.

What Makes the Icon Class Perfect for Families?

Icon Class ships have an on-board waterpark called Category 6, which has six record-breaking waterslides, including a drop slide and two family raft rides. Icon Class ships also have an entire neighborhood dedicated to families called Surfside, which has entertainment and restaurants designed for families, and even a family-friendly bar.

Icon Class ships also have beautifully updated child and teen clubs.

While Royal Caribbean is known for making their newest ships, slightly larger than the last, it has been confirmed that Star of the Seas will be the same size as Icon of the Seas, sharing the title as the world’s largest cruise ships.

While Star of the Seas will have the same neighborhoods as Icon of the Seas and will look very similar, there will be some differences. They will take guest feedback from the Icon of the Seas and incorporate them into the Star of the Seas. One exciting feature for families with children in particular, is that they will fully launch the child-finder feature on their app. Parents can place a wristband on their child, which will allow them to track their child’s location throughout the ship.
